Inwood family from Middlesex
« on: Wednesday 15 August 07 00:55 BST (UK) »
my ggrandmother was Jessie Inwood, her parents were Thomas Edward Inwood/Jessie Cain. Siblings were; Katherine H, Arthur E., Mary E., Annie Grace, Thomas Ernest, Charles Alfred and Nellie. Thomas's second marriage was to Emm Hart. That marriage produced 2 children Hart  and John Inwood. I would appreciate any info on this family.
Many Thanks

Hi legs -11

Welcome to Rootschat.  I hope that you have a rewarding time here.

Could you please provide some dates for the people you have listed here?  It will make it heaps easier for us to help you out if we have timeframe to searchin.

Cheers

Hi Legs-11
As Karenlee says, a few dates even if only approximate makes the job a little easier, but being at a loose end I've found the following

Freebmd has a marriage entry for Thomas Edward Inwood and Jessie Cain in the December 1/4 of 1862 in Kensington district.

If that is the right people then the 1871 census shows
RG10/1321 folio 60 page 11
living at 4 Devon Terrace, Chiswick

INWOOD
Thomas E/head/mar/31/clerk c? fire officer/Kent Greenwich
Jessie/wife/mar/29/Warwick Rugby
Jessie/dau/7/scholar/Middlesex Bayswater
Catherine H/dau/6/scholar/Middlesex Bayswater
Arthur E/son/4/Middlesex Bayswater
Mary E/dau/2/Middlesex Bayswater
Annie G/dau/1/Middlesex Bayswater

Hi Bee,
Thank you very much for all the info, and yes you have the right Inwood family. You were able to give me a little more info than what I had. What I am trying to do now is see if I can contact any of these people's descendants. Jessie Inwood (my ggrandmother) married Joseph Wm. Hayward 30 April 1898 (don't know if they married in UK or Bermuda, where he was from). Is there any way to check marriages in the UK. Even though I was born & raised in Bermuda, I have lived in New Zealand for the past 37yrs, and am finding it difficult to research from this side of the world.
Thanks for your help.

I have tried the Free website http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ for the Inwood Hayward marriage, but cannot see one.

It is not a complete index,as it is being transcribed by volunteers, but it's usually the first place to go to.They list all those with the same ref number on the page,so it's often easy to guess which girl married which chap  ;)

Possibly they did marry in Bermuda,or perhaps it's just not on Free BMD yet.
