help needed please

hi
it's been a while since i been on but i need some help please.
can anyone tell me how i would be able to find someone who was in the raf between 1900 - 1930 ish  i am researching my nans side of the family and i can't find her dad anywhere. he was born joseph walter goodgar and when he was 5 his dad died and he went to live with an aunt who changed his surname to haldenby he married an ellen hodgson who died giving birth to my nan in 1928 he then remarried soon after and had 2 more children richard haldenby (an actor in the 50's and 60's who commited suicide after coming out as gay)  and david. is anyone able to help me with any info please

If you use Ask.com and type in Where can i obtain R.A.F. Records.That will bring up all very helpfull information.I don't know where lots of places are in England so i allways Ask,because it's very quick
