Stoke-on-Trent - Airfields
« on: Friday 17 August 07 22:32 BST (UK) »
Were there any airfields near to Stoke-on-Trent?  Also were any of these used by the American Air Force.  Is anything know of plane crashes in the area?

I apologise for the rather vague questions but I am trying to help out a friend who is to visit Stoke shortly for the first time since he was evacuated there.

Any information provided will be gratefull received and passed on.

One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Thank you all for your very prompt responses.  I have forwarded them to my friend.  I imagine the various references will keep him quite busy prior to his visit to Stoke.
