Thomas CLUNEY
« on: Sunday 19 August 07 04:42 BST (UK) »
I am looking for info on my GGG Grandfather Thomas Cluney.  Through some certificates I recently received, I found that he 'might' have been born in Waterford in 1812.   He emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada at some point.  That is the extent of what I know.

If anyone has any hints, leads, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

thank you
Brenda

Can't see a death registration for Thomas Cluney in Nova Scotia but found the following which may be the same family:

Thomas Cluney, farmer & lumberman, m. Bridget. Lived Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., N.S.
1. Thomas Cluney (b.c1849) m.(1875) Sarah Kate Bennett.
2. John Cluney m.(1876) Mary Heard.
3. Edward Cluney m.(1884)
Let me know if these are the correct family and you want further details.

It is possible that other N.S. records will give some clues as to where Thomas Cluney was from in Ireland.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello Christopher,

I think Thomas was Anglican.

Hello Aghadowey,

I have Thomas' information after he emigrated to NS.  I have a certificate which says he was from 'Waterford' (and I cannot find that certificate right now, oh boy).

Cheers
Brenda
