Seeking information about early life of George Hiffernan. Born 1st July 1887 in Co Cork. Any siblings?
His mother is listed in 1915 as Mrs G W Hiffernan of 3 Mount Pleasant Square, Ranelagh, Dublin. I believe that this was a wealthy area and I wondered if she was in service at this address.
Any information would be most welcome

Welcome to Rootschat.
If you send for George's birth certificate it will list names of parents, father's occupation & exact place of birth. Then you will be able to look for the parents' marriage to get the names of their father's taking you back one more generation.
The 1901 census might give more relatives but it is not indexed so you have to know where they were living at the time.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
