Bonallie family master mariner/mariners Sunderland
« on: Monday 20 August 07 07:44 BST (UK) »
Has anyone come across any info on the Bonallie family from Sunderland who were mariners and master mariners.  My grandfather Robert Bonallie served as a merchant seaman in WW1 and possibly may have been a mariner either side of the war, his Uncle Alexander Bonallie is on the 1881 census as being on board the Florence Nightingale ion the Isle of Wight and from Alexander's fathers wedding certificate  from 1844 I know that Alexander Bonallie was also a master mariner like his son Alexander was  in 1881.

Hi Lisa

If you are on Genes Reunited then it's very likely we have been in touch, not a full member on there at the moment, too many things to do for crimbo, will get round to renewing my membership soon.
