Blackmore Essex parish register lookup please

Hi,
looking for John Windley, from Blackmore Essex. I don't know when he was born, but I do know that he married Susannah Pattmore Oct. 11th 1784 in Blackmore. Susannah was from Chiffrunt () county Herts. Any information about when and where they were born exactly and/or died very welcome. Also names of children. Thank you.

Hi: I looked at the marriage register for Blackmore at Essex Record Office ref: D/P 266/1/5. At first I could not find the entry you required. However because the compilers of the Essex Marriage Register had noticed that the curate had made the following entry 2 years early out of sequence (he had probably been allowed to get at the booze before he made the entry) I can give you this detail: John WENLY (sic) bachelor of Blackmore and Susanna PATMORE were married by licence 11th October 1784. The witnesses were T. Smith and John King. T. Smith was also the name of the curate.
I found these entries in the baptism register ref: D/P 266/1/4
17th Sep 1784 Mary dau of John and Elizabeth WINLEY
14th June 1789 George son of John and Susannah WINLEY
10th March 1792 Charles son of John and Susanna WINLEY buried14th March 1792
9th June 1793 John son of John and Susan WINDLEY
22 May 1796 Robert son of John and Susan WINDLEY
28th July 1799 Sarah dau of John and Susannah WINDLEY
15th Nov 1801 Ann dau of John and Susan WINDLEY
I have not mis-transcribed the first 3 baptisms. It seemed to have taken the curate that long to get the family name right.

Is it possible to find the birth of John? If the John who died 1817 is the right one he would have been born about 1756. Are there any records of that period?

I think there are records for that period. I'll have a look at Essex RO in January. I forgot to say that Susanna Patmore was stated to be from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

Hallo: As promised I looked up Blackmore again. The microfiche of the original registers gave very poor images which were too much for my eyes.
However there are splendid transcripts covering baptisms, marriages and burials for period 1602-1812 (ref: T/R 219/1).
There are indexes to the 3 sections of baptisms, marriages and burials but these were the only 2 indexed for WINLEY (or WENLY, WINDLEY etc):-
Baptism 17th Dec 1780 William WINLEY son of James and Sarah
Burial 14th March 1792 Charles WINLEY son of John

In case the index was faulty I also searched all baptisms for 1700-1760. No further finds

Since I returned from Essex RO I had a look at the IGI for WINDLEYs (sic) in Essex. There is a John WINLY baptised 1752 in Ingatestone which is close to Blackmore. What do you think?

Hi,
thank you for taking the time looking up John Windley at ERO. Charles Winley is probably the son of the John Winley I'm looking for. Charles was baptised 10 03 1792 and buried 14 03 1792.
I donīt know who James and Sarah are. Maybe James is Johnīs brother? The John Winly from Ingatestone lookes promissing. John married Susannah 1784 in Blackmore. He would have been 32 if heīs my John Winley.I think date and place could be very close if not correct. Who are Johnīs parents?
Any other suggestions where to look next very much appreciated.
