Hi Peeps,
I have hit a brick wall and don't seem to be getting any further. If someone can help with information or point me in another direction that would be great.
Thomas Cannon (b. 1824) was married to Ann Farrell (b. 1826) in Oldham, Lancashire 25 April 1852. His father was Michael Cannon (a Labourer) and her father was Edward Farrell (a farmer). I have not managed to find Thomas on the 1851 census. On later census data Thomas indicates he was born in County Sligo, Ireland - to date i have not managed to isolate a location so i can continue my search. Ann Farrell is also indicated to be from County Sligo.
They later moved to Bradford but they must have had ties in Oldham because there second child Edward Cannon was born there in 1855. Other children included Ellen b.1854, Mary b.1858, Bridget b.1861 and then a grand daughter called Mary Ellen b.1875 (on this front i assume her mother was an unmarried daughter of Thomas and Ann because Mary Ellen was a Cannon and i dont think she was Edwards child)
If anyone can help or help me pin point a village/town in County Sligo i would be very grateful.
Regards,
Trilobite
