Nothing on the IGI showing for a Willilam Holmes, there is this one entry but I am not at all sure about it being yours.

WILLIAM DONCASTER  9.5.1824 Spridlington, Lincoln.

Father George Doncaster   Mother Mary

Spridlington is not too far from Bransby, perhaps you have some other information to go on   :-\

I don't think Bransby has ever had a church - map http://tinyurl.com/32rahr

It was in Stow parish http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/Stow/

There was a William HOLMS bap at Stow 9 June 1822, son of William and Hellen.

Ah ... I see a William HOLMES (infant) was buried there in 1824 - I suppose it could have been the same one.

It might be worth checking Saxilby for a baptism - Bransby is more or less equidistant from both Stow and Saxilby; in fact it's probably a bit nearer to Saxilby church.
