This is my first venture into Sussex and I'm not too familiar with the geography , so please bear with me.
I'm trying to locate a couple -
Joseph and Sarah Symonds - who had numerous children in Hambleden, Bucks between 1740 and 1759.
Every now and then I have another go at trying to find their marriage - and I always come back to a few IGIs (unfortunately, of the 'submitted by a member' type!) which has a couple - Joseph Simons and Sarah Beard - marrying in
Worth, Sussex on 2/9/1731 and then having 4 children: John 1733, Sarah 1735, Mary 1736, Joseph 1737in
Cuckfield, Sussex, which I believe is only a few miles away.
Now, a couple of the childrens' names are duplicated by the couple in Bucks, but that's not particularly unusual if the first child died. I'm just not sure that a couple would have travelled about 70 miles at this time?!
If someone could help verify (or not!) these submitted IGIs, see if the marriage gives any indication of the couple's parishes and perhaps see if there are any additional baptisms which would rule out this Sussex couple being the same people as my Bucks couple, I'll be very grateful.
It would be nice if I could finally knock down this particular brickwall!!
