Hi all. Just had a wonderful first visit with a 3rd cousin once removed and one of her sons (my fourth cousin). She had some truly amazing things, and I will be posting here and there with queries and genealogy envy

. But to start with, she had an indenture contract (is that what it would be called) for a William Harris, indentured to his father, Joseph Harris in 1800. We aren't sure why she had it, as it isn't a name we have come across in our research yet, and we have gotten beyond that time period for both families to some extent. It was, to say the least, unbelievable to see, touch, examine, this document. I have never seen anything like it, up close and personal. I was terrified to touch it.
Anyway, Joseph was a weaver in Coventry. The document was fascinating to read. And in incredible shape, although extremely fragile. I would love to find a connection, a reason for a descendant in my line to have it. For a little background, my line would be Wells and Collins, and another branch of my cousin's line is Band, and I believe she said he also came from Coventry.
Thanks.
Kath
