Does anyone else dare give this a chance?  It is my Aunty's and she lent it to me.  She doesn't know it has been damaged.  I have just seen some great ones by Caz and others and I would appreciate it if others could add to what little meg and g a r have done.

I am very grateful to you two who have done this.  I am just curious to see what others can also do.  Please.

This is the only photo that I have (or may ever have) in need of restoration, and I would be very grateful to anyone who tries.  I will be passing each one on to my Aunty and I am sure you would have her thanks and gratitude as you have mine.

Hi,

As it from a newspaper there is no detail left to bring out. Are you in Oz? If so, by using my detective powers, I think you will be able to find a copy if you get hold of back issues of the Clermont Telegram. The Queensland State Library seems to hold copies on microform - it is just a matter of tracking down the date, they hopefully you can get a new copy.

Thanks.  That is the problem.  I only know it is sometime in the 70's or 80's I think.. as it was in 1939 and the caption said someone in their 50's.

I guess I just have to go to Brisbane, but it is a few hours away.  I was hoping something could be done, but thank you very much for telling me.  I appreciate it.

I took your advice and asked on the Queensland genealogy list, and someone actually FOUND the newspaper article so I have it.

Thank you so much for giving me the idea.  I am amazing that Estelle was able to find it, but she did.

Since it is from a newspaper, I also know not to try to get a clean up or whatever of another one she sent me, as you said if it is from a newspaper, there is no more detail to get out.

I am grateful for your reply.  And I am glad this didn't waste anyone's valuable time on something that couldn't be done.  If I had known that before, I wouldn't have asked.  So I am grateful for what you said, thanks.
