Aslett born Stockbridge
« on: Monday 03 September 07 13:14 BST (UK) »
Hi
Looking for any information on my grandfather x3, Charles Aslett.  He was born in Stockbridge in 1811/12 and his father was called Thomas Aslett.
He married Margaret Chapelhow (nee Brown) in Shap, Westmorland in 1845 where he was working as a Railway labourer (excavator).
Their daughter, Elizabeth Aslett, born in 1851 in Seaham, Co, Durham is my grandmother x2.
I know alot of Aslett's seem to come from the hampshire region and why Charles came up North is a mystery - any help on tracing him in 1841 or before would be appreciated.
He died in 1869 aged 58 in Sunderland.

Thank you
Sue

Dear Sue

Have you had a look at the Hampshire OPC site? There seem to be quite a few Asletts knocking about - www.knightroots.co.uk

Best of luck with your search
