looking for robert and john

i hope i'm on the correct site. i'm lookingfor the death of robert johnston born 1870/1871 in heworth co. durham marrieed in 1895 in gateshead to mary ellen burns, i'm also looking for her death, she was born in1874 in tynemouth northumberland. i cannot find any info on robert's father john, i think he was born in 1833 maybe in stockport i'm not sure. can anyone help?

You say Mary Ellen Johnston ( nee Burns) was born in Tynemouth.

Did you mean actually born in the town of Tynemouth. Or that her birth was registered at/with the Registration District (RD) of Tynemouth ( main office in the town of Tynemouth)

I can see on FreeBMD the registration of the birth of a Mary Eleanor Burns in June Quarter of 1874 at/with the Registration District (RD) of Tynemouth. As the Tynemouth RD covered a wide area which included several other towns and communities, this birth could have been in several locations.

A candidate for Mary was the dtr of Patrick and Ann, born in Walker, a part of the parish of Longbenton, which lay within the jurisdiction of Tynemouth RD. Today Walker is part of the City of Newcastle.

I notice that FreeBMD site records Robert's surame as JOHNSON, in the registration of his marriage at/with Gateshead RD ( which like Tynemouth RD, covered a wide area around Gateshead, e.g. Heworth, Felling)

hi michael, the info i have at the moment is , a marriage certificate for robert johnson and mary ellen burns the date of the marriage was 21/12/1895 he was 24 and she was 22. the marriage was registered indistrict of gateshead in the counties of gateshead and durham. his father was john johnson coal miner. residence at time of marriage was windy nook heworth for both parties.  i have them on the 1901 census parish of st. albans town of felling in durham. also mary's parents were henry burns and margaret treanor. does this help in any way. that's all the info i have.

i have just been looking at this for the johnston family
i have a john johnston/johnson born in 1847 ish in cumbria but on a census report he was born in newcastle
i have no info on him but the johnston/johnson family in my tree start with a james johnston born in 1815 cumbria he had 7sons and 1 daughter
i only have info on one son a james johnston born in 1854 m a margaret wealleans or (williams)
in newcastle the family still live in newcastle/gateshead
he had 4 sons
2 born in shropshire 2 in newcastle
i have been looking back from a leonora johnston born in 1903 married to a john pearson
they married in st josephs blaydon on tyne in 1920 she was 1 of 5 children
