Hi,

Langholm actually has an archive centre, their website is http://www.langholmarchivecentre.org.uk/ they are very helpful and have a lot of information for the Langholm area. Also http://www.cairndhu.net/ has some information about the area and various publications.

Which families in particular are you interested in?

Emma

Hi Emma
I am interested in Robert Scoon and Magdalene Hyslop
Robert born 1767 in canonbie or Robert born 1788 in Roberton .Spouse Magdalene Hyslop born Langholm 1788
I was at Wauchope last saturday and found the graves of my great grandparents Isabella Johnstone and John Scoon. I would also be grateful if you can give me any information on the Johnstones of Langholm.
best regards
Kenneth Johnstone Scoon

Hi Kenneth,

Just had a look at the Wauchope MI’s and have found the entry of an Isabella Johnstone wife of John Scoon died 1905 age 58.

Before I do anymore digging around is this the right family?

Emma
