Chipping Norton Baptism - Prestridge

The 1851 gives a head of a family as :-

Thomas Prestridge b.~ 1874 Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.

I have check for a baptism in the IGI and BIVRI but it's not there.

If someone has access the necessary records could they try and look this up please.


The Prestridge surname is quite uncommon,  there are only one or two hot spots throughout the UK and Oxfordshire is not one of them (although Warwick is a hot spot).  My gut feeling is that there has probably been a transcription mix up,  confusion with Chipping Campdon.

Have found two Thomas Prestidge' bapt at Chipping Norton Oxfordshire.

Thomas Prestidge bapt 2/6/1782 Chipping Norton son of John and Susanna

Thomas Prestidge bapt 4/7/1855 Chipping Norton son of William and Ann.
