Hi

Just received the certificate of their marriage William George Sewell his fathers name was William Sewell.  Florence Grace Ablitt her father was (certificate not very clear possible John or Jack Robert Ablitt).

I cannot find these people on the 1891 census, I think I may have found them in 1901  on that census all living in Ipswich.

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Hi Double D,

Could you post all the details from the marriage cert, including father's occupations and witnesses? There seem to be several William Sewell/s  :-\

Hi,

Help!  I have received the birth certificate for William George Sewell b. 1st July 1901, but he is at 7 Albion Place, the one I want is at 42, Curriers Lane.

It is strange that they are both called William George and both born 1st July, but mine would be a different year, going by the census.

It now looks like I have the wrong Marriage as well, for William George and Florence Grace Ablitt, this also looks as if it relates to the above brth certificate.

PLEASE Help!

I'm lost Double D!

What was your starting point, if you believe the marriage to be possibly wrong?  ???

And how do you know exactly at which address your William George was born?  ???

Just to add my twopenn'orth, you can't rely on census ages to be 100% accurate, and which parents were named on the birth cert that you bought?

Hi

I have been told that the family lived at Curriers Lane, which has given me a crisis of confidence (not that I had much in the first place), that's why I think I have the wrong one.

The parents of William George are given as William and Ellen (nee Suckling).

Well, I suppose they can have moved ...

Might be worth checking 1901 census online to see who was living at the Curriers Lane address you have ...

This seems to be the family you've now got the cert for:

1901
RG13/1777 90 18
Ipswich St Cement
7 Albion Place

William Sewell, head, 28, Iron moulder's labourer (engine maker)
Henrietta (?) E, wife, 27
Edith M, dau, 7
Ellen M, dau, 5
Henry E, son, 2

Do you know when William George died?
