Where was she buried?
« on: Friday 14 September 07 16:37 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have recently discovered (or I should say rootschatter Su has discovered!) that Maria Lee died in Tunbridge in 1894.  I want to try and find her place of burial and was wondering if anyone can tell me how many burial places there were in the area at this date.  Are there any MI's for the local churchyard/cemetery?

Cheers

Jayson

Hi Jayson

Did she actually live/die in the town of Tonbridge (note spelling)?

There's Tonbridge Cemetery but it looks like they charge £35 >:(

There is also Woodbury Park Cemetery in Tunbridge Wells (adjacant town) but I'm not sure when this one opened http://www.friendsofwoodburyparkcemetery.org.uk/index.html

Hi Casalguidi, really appreciate the links. £35? Sounds like opportunism to me >:( Maria was indeed living at Tunbridge Wells when she died in 1894. She was born and brought up in Wybunbury but wasn't buried there so I'm hoping I'll find her here. Thank you also to you Geoff for the Tunbridge Wells link. ;) Jayson
