Parish Records Check please
« on: Tuesday 25 September 07 13:14 BST (UK) »
Is anyone able to check the Cambridge baptisms please??

I am looking for the baptsim of one William MOTTLEE born approx 1802.
Also John Thomas MOTTLEE born approx 1800.

There is an A. Mottlee listed as a witness on William's marriage in London - I am unsure if this is a mother, sister or other relative.

I belive their father is John Thomas MOTTLEE - a breeches maker, if this helps at all!!

Many thanks for any assistance- all will be appreciated!
Kylie

I couldn't find anything on the Cambridge FHS index:

http://www.cfhs.org.uk/BaptismIndex/

but you can check for yourself.

http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/

also has Cambridgeshire baptisms, but doesn't seem to show anthying likely either.  How sure are you that it's Cambridgeshire you need to look at?

Not 100% unfortunately - based solely on Thomas listing his place of birth as Cambridge on the 1851, and my belief that he is William's brother.
Sadly thats as sure as I can get at the moment - desperately need more info basically!!
Any other suggestions?

Which Thomas is this, as I can't see him in 1851- do you have the reference or more detail?

The Thomas Mottlee I have found and believe to be William's brother (but this is an assumption at this stage) was a Milkman on his marriage in 1838, and on the 1841 and 1851.

1841 he and his wife mary Ann, and a daughter Clara from Thomas's first marriage lived in Wardour St. I havn't determined who his first wife was.

1851 the couple are living at 5 Broadway, St Margarets, Westminster with Clara and a son Frederick (ref HO107 / 1480). They are indexed under Mottler.
