I'm trying to track down long lost family members living in and around the town of KILMIHIL Co. Clare. My father Michael (or it may have been Martin!) Downes was in 1942-43 closely involved with Downes Bakery in Kilmihil - the barkery subsequently burnt down. Apparently Michael (Martin) was a delivery driver for the bakery and died sometime in the 1960's. I was adopted by a UK couple in 1943 and am therefore not absolutely sure of my natural father's christian name but the bakery connection is right. My birth mother's name was GALVIN. She was also from Kilmihil and went to live/work in Leamington Spa in England in 1943 as a hospital nurse.
