These 1871 Cassidy's are on HS (Household Schedule) nr 92.
On the next HS 93, is a Catherine Walker 53 b Old Kilpatrick DNB  with 2 daughters Catherine 25 and Jeanie 22

Your 1881 Census, the CASSIDY's  are HS 177 and their  neighbours from same HS 177 (a 2 share house?)  are:  Catherine Walker 63, b Duntocher, with  daughters Catherine 33 and Jane 27

On the 1881 is a James age 3, who obviously cannot be James age 2 from 1871. Is is very likely the 1871 James died bf 1878 and the next son born 1878, who is on 1881 was named after him.

I looks like the family arrived from Ireland sometime between abt 1867 aND 1869 - I can't see them on 1861 Scotland.

I can't immediately see Rose on 1881, or Mary Ann?

many thanks    I was hoping it would record the county...but if they seem to have been married in Ireland then the place of marriage may be recorded on the birth certificate of one of their Scottish born children..thank god for Scottish bdm
