BALL family of Cloford; where did they go?
« on: Tuesday 02 October 07 09:00 BST (UK) »
Can anyone spot the following members of the BALL family in the 1841 or later censuses?

Children of John BALL (1773-?) and Mary PARFITT (1785-?):
Mary Ann bap Cloford 10 Apr 1808
John bap Cloford 15 Jul 1810
Richard b Cloford about 1817

Children of Harry BALL (1771-?) and Elizabeth (Betsy) PRATTEN (1775-?):
Ann bap Cloford 15 Sep 1799
Mary bap Cloford 29 Jun 1801
Harry bap Cloford 28 Oct 1804

Any help in identifying what became of these people - or other potential members of these families such Kimbra BALL born in Cloford around 1814 who married Benjamin HODDINOTT in 1835 - would be most gratefully received.

Kind regards and thanks

Dear Alli

Sorry bout the delay in writing back; I have been off the air for the past few days.

Many thanks for this heap of very useful information, which I have now put into my database.

I have managed to find Richard Ball under the name Richard BULL in 1861, so I guess that he may be hiding under a different transcription in other years as well.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Kind regards

Philip Candy
