Hi I am looking for a marriage or death of a James Snell born l9l4 at Cardiff in Wales unbable to
find marriage or death.  His mothers name was Mary Gardner.

cwgc has a James William Snell died 22 Nov 1944 aged 30. No details of parents given.

Hi no  he did not die in the war.  I went to visit him from Australia in about l970 he is my fathers uncle.  He was married to a blind lady and they had a child called ** which may have been born in or about l934 onwards.

Any ideas where he was living roughly in 1970 when you visited him.

Hi not sure it must have been in the Cardiff area as my grandfather lived in Tremorfa but he did
not live at Tremorfa he lived in like housing commission houses.  I will see if I can find out.

So he would be James E Snell registered Sep qtr 1914.

findmypast.com has a death of a
James Edward Snell registered in Merthyr Tyd in 1989.
I dont have a subscription for this to see the date of birth of the individual concerned - maybe someone else can look for you.

where you say you went to visit him in Austrailia do you  mean he emigrated to Austrailia?

Hello  I live in Australia and my father is Welsh from Cardiff.  My parents and I went to Cardiff
in about l970 to visit my grandparents and we went to visit James Snell.  Thanks for the three death notices do you have any marriages for those three James Snells.  On the deaths does
it give you any parents his mothers name was Mary Gardner but she was married twice so it
could be Mary Gibbs.
