I dont have any of these names but wondered if anyone has identified family of Izzy Smith ...many.jewish families anglisizaed their surnames or chose one related to their profession or a random name
I wonder where his ancestors came from and what their original surname was .They must have been proud

According to Wikipedia :Smith was originally "Ishroulch Shmeilowitz (and other renderings), to parents residing in Egypt"."The son of French citizens Moses and Eva Shmeilowitz, who were of Russian Jewish origin"
Some time after the War he emigrated to Australia.

Thanks so much for uploading Harry Neumann's page. That's him, Great Uncle Harry (born Heinrich Neumann 1855 - in Buxton). The family later settled in Birkenhead. Harry later moved to Canada. Since finding your post I managed to make contact with a Canadian cousin, Harry's great granddaughter - and - she had this amazing photo of him!
Thanks for your help and sharing the album.
