anyone visiting warwick record office?
« on: Wednesday 03 October 07 22:12 BST (UK) »
Is there anyone that will be visiting warwick record office soon if so i was wondering if they could do a christening look up for John William Cooper born around 1885 i dont know who his parents are all i know is that it says born frankton on the 1891 census he is living with grandparents. There is no birth registration for him so im hoping that maybe thre will be a christening in Frankton.

                                 Many Thanks
                                      Sharon.

I shall be visiting the Coventry Archives sometime in the near future as I also have some lookups to do in Frankton and will note the name you are after in case nobody gets back before then. Cannot give you any indication of when I will be over there though.

There is no Frankton listed for Leicestershire and I know of none apart from the one in Warwickshire which is the only one in modern map indexes.
I would be more inclined to say that someone has given the wrong information on that census as often happened.

Hello

I have had a look up in Leicestershire and could not find Frankton as you say.

Where abouts in Warwickshire is it?

Thanks Pam

Draw a line between Coventry and Rugby and towards the centre just drop down a little.
Alternatively put the name in your search engine or on multi-map and it will bring it up for you.
