Help please with Smith / Mason Census
« on: Thursday 04 October 07 10:03 BST (UK) »
I would be very grateful for some help. ???

I am trying to research my Mothers' side of the family which has the unhelpful name Smith!  Her parents were Charles George Smith who died c. 1970 aged 73 and Kate Mason who died 1989 aged 86/87.  My mum thinks they were married in Whitbourne / Knightwick and they lived in the Stoke Lacey / Bromyard area.

Charles George Smith had sisters: Edi(th), Clarie and Dorothy (we think) and was probably born in Stoke Lacey

Kate Mason came from Pixhill, Tedstone Delamere / Whitborne area (we think)

I will be very grateful for any help - I am fairly new to this

David

I think Kate Mason's parents might be Fred and Kate. Carhles' might be George and Emily.  I'm not sure where I got these from!

That looks right to me - my Gran died in Tenbury and lived there for many years.

I don't know about the age of his sisters, but absence from the 1901 would imply that they were younger.  Checking my scribblings it would appear that Emily might have been an  Aylett in Pencombe

I think George's lineage through his father etc should be Stoke Lacey
