Allebones of Irchester
« on: Thursday 04 October 07 11:21 BST (UK) »
Hi there does anyone have any idea whether the Allebone(Allibone) family from Irchester are any relation to the Allibones of Rushden Northants who owned a shoe company;
I remember Allibones shoe factory very well and have now discovered that my daughters family from my first marriage married into this line;  It would be interesting to know for research purposes.
I am not sure if Allibones was one of the factorys tha fell by the wayside during the fall of many shoe companies in Northamptonshire.  However I am failr certian the factory used to be in Irchester Road off Wellingborough road in Rushden when i was a girl in the 50's
