Hi Sue,

I would like to wish you a very warm welcome to RootsChat!  :)

Here is Isaac in 1841:

Staffordshire, Chebsey

Isaac Ansile, 45, Ag, Lab
Elizabeth, 45
Sarah, 15

Welcome from me too Sue!

You can check the Chebsey baptisms for yourself  via the Hugh Wallis site which links to the parishes transcribed on the IGI

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyStafford_(A-M).htm#PageTitle

Ages a little out in 1841 (Eliza for eg baptised 1830) but seems to be the right family Pels has found for you. There are also a couple more children I can see, Elizabeth 1824 and Thomas 1827.

What a shame the 1851 isn't more help .. ..

1851 census:
HO107/2000, folio 317, page 11

Staffordshire, Chebsey

Isaac Ansell, h.mar. 60, Rail Lab, b. Staffs, Chebsey
Elizabeth, wife, 60, Dressmaker, b. Chebsey
James, son, unm, 15, Errand Boy, Chebsey

Indexed as Ausell.

But it should make it easier to fit it in with the link Heather has
sent - all born in Chebsey.

Kind regards,

Pels  :)

Hi Sue,
This may be their marriage (or perhaps a bit early?)
Isaac Ancell = Elizabeth Pickering
11 Feb 1817
Chebsey

As Heather has suggests, there are quite a few Ancells in Chebsey on the IGI.

I think you're right Ruskie. There is also a John baptised 1819. Might be more but I'm playing at Rootschat and trying to get ready for work at the same time :)

I haven't a clue what happened here .. I posted it, saw Heather was the last reply - posted it again and now I've done it twice?
