Hi mrs a,

What information would you like to receive about Robert? Also, could you tell us what you do have, as it always saves members repeating what others have done. :) Here's your family in 1901:

Residence: 34 Watt St, West Calder
Robert Fawcett, m, head, 28, coalminer hewer, Edinburgh
Marion ", f, wife, 24, -, Livingston, Linlithshire
John ", m, son, 5, -, Carnwath, Lanarkshire
Thomas ", m, son, 2, -, West Calder
Robert Braind ", m, son, 1 month, -, Addiewell, West Calder

Given John's age, are you sure his parents married in 1899?

thanks
looks like Thomas , nephew on 1891 census could be hom as he was born C1870 and my grandfather also Robert was born in Watt Street. Interesting to see the name Brand in the Edinburgh one as my papa's mddle name was Browne but my aunt thought it may be Brand? Braind mis spelled at sometime.

hi pal,

made a wee amendment to my post.

could not leave it alone...

had to find out...

looks like your robert was born 6/6/1872 colinton midlothian, he was the illigitimate son of janet. i thought that annie may be her's also but it turns out she was the illigitimate daughter of margaret.

also noticed that robert brand married emily fosset(fawcett) on the 23/6/1834, she too was born in queensferry.

looks like she is the sister of john.

1881 census- 12 davy street, west calder

robert brand...age 51...candle packer
emily brand...age 48

as we noticed, emily never made it to 1891, so a wee check for her death cert will let you confirm her parents and therefore go on another search.
