Died Roath /Buried St Woolas, Newport
« on: Friday 12 October 07 22:01 BST (UK) »
Can anyone tell me what Undertakers were in buisness in 1924,it was the year  my Grandfather died  in Richards Terrace, Roath,Cardiff. His body was taken to St Woolas cemetery Newport and buried with his mother.I am wondering if they would have any records left.I know I am clutching at straws but nothing ventured etc.
Cheers Tsumi

My family were from the Roath area and burials were always handled by James Summers, Roath Court Newport Road.  The family undertaking business was I believe started in 1878 in Broadway and is still flourishing today in Newport Road.  Do a google search for contact details.  If a local firm handled things then likely to be them unless it was someone from across the border in Monmouthshire!

Just started on the family tree and have discovered that James Summers the undertaker was my great grandfather.  I would be interested to know if you got a reply and if so could I have their email address please.  They are now owned by the Co-Op!
