1861 Bradford census Dalzell
« on: Thursday 23 December 04 17:18 GMT (UK) »
Hoping for help with the 1861 Bradford census.
Could someone please help me find Samuel Henry Dalzell born 1836Kendal, Martha Ann Dalzell born 1842 Leeds and Alfred E Dalzell born 1860 Halifax. They are not in the Halifax or Kendal census for 1861 . They did live in Bradford later at 117 Earl Street little Horton but not till the 1880s. Samuel was a bookkeeper and wool stapler.
They could be with family  named Burrow.
Look forward to feedback, many thanks.

Veronica,
Had another thought on this. There's a surname index to 1861 Bradford at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/bfhs/bfdcs61.html . I don't think they are going to be there by a quick look through the surnames found.

Merry Christmas.
Pauline

Hi Veronica,

I found them in Halifax in 1861. Unfortunately in our database the surname was difficult to read and was indexed as "Patzall". If you do a search for them at 1861census.co.uk for the name Patzall, you'll find them.

Surname   First_Names   Year_Born
Patzall   Samuel H   1837
Patzall   Martha Ann   1841
Patzall   Alfred E   1861

Take care and happy Xmas,
