I just tested a few searches and because I am able to narrow it down now by county most were just coming up with one page of relevant posts.  However I tried putting in 1851 census and got 21 pages and as before you just scroll through the pages.

Gadget,

A search for Smyth gives three pages and one for Belfast gives twenty three pages.

In both instances I can only see the first page.

When I click to look at the second page nothing is happening :'( It's perfect with a thread with several pages but not when I am faced with a search offering several pages of results.

I just went back and retried my search again to see if I could move to other pages and it is working for me.  :-\ :-\  That is odd ???

That is odd Christopher, because as I said, I've never been able to move on to another page before, but now it's working beautifully.

I'm not very technically minded, I hope someone can suggest a reason for it still not working for you.  ???

This for me at least has been a long standing problem, I cannot remember when I could get past page one on a search ???

During this time I have had a new hard drive and a new a new computer but
my access to the later search pages remains off limits to me :'(

I tried using my husbands computer, no difference.

If anyone can tell me what settings to change (I know I have asked this before) I would be sooo pleased.
