Any more members of the LLOYDS family in Yarbrugh c. 1862
« on: Tuesday 16 October 07 11:46 BST (UK) »
Hi, Everyone,
Just a long shot, but there's only a single burial entry in Lincolshire for the LLOYDS family in the whole of the NBI second edition - a Henry LLOYDS aged 46 buried 24-11-1862 in St John the Baptist Yarbrugh, Lincs.
Could anyone tell me whether there might be other entries for this family in this parish...?
Very best wishes,
keith

The censuses suggest there were no family links with Lincolnshire.  Henry just happened to be working there.

1861
The Rectory, Yarborough
Henry LLOYD 45 Rector of Yarborough, Yorks Hornby
Ann Elizabeth 38 India
Alicia Margaret 2 Yarborough
George Wm 1m Yarborough
plus servants

1871
Fairlawn House, Northam?, Herts
Anne E LLOYD 38 Clergyman's Widow, India, Brit Subject
Alicia M 12 Scholar, Yarborough
George W 10 Lincs Scholar, Yarborough
Henry J G 8 Scholar, Yarborough
Jemima BEAUCLERK (vis, wid) 54 Widow of Duke's younger son, Scotland
plus servants

It looks as if all the kids were registered as LLOYD rather than LLOYDS.
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

Geoff,
Thanks so much for taking the time to look into this for me.  Yet another case of a LLOYD masquerading as a LLOYDS, but the process of elimination goes on!  Interesting that he was a reverend, and that there's a possible Indian family connection - and Jemima looks intriguing, too...
Very best wishes,
keith

Geoff,
Shame that I can't lay claim to any of these fine family members...!
