Thanks for this. I have found Henry Sensical in 1841 - confusing when spellings change! William Sensical (60yrs) is with him but no Mary.

Thank you both for your help. I have Googled as suggested and emailed another Sensecal family member. That was an interesting site you directed me to - gave me some background to the family tree. I do like to find out as much as  I can about the places where people lived

Mike - your burials are a great help too - I think you are spot on with William, Mary and Henry and I think Charlotte(1889) is Henry's wife Charlotte Springthorpe( b1805). Can I ask where you found these?

Would Henry's birth record in the parish records give me his mothers maiden name in 1800?- or perhaps his death record in 1884 as this was after SR's began?

Greeting’s Again Jen……

Those burial records come from my CD of Leicestershire / Rutland Parish Burials
1813. ~ 91.Transcribed by fellow members of the Leicester & Rutland Family History Society.

You ask if the Maiden name of Henry would be shown on the Parish Baptism Registers, seeing the date then I’m afraid the answer is NO

e.g.
BAPTISMS ANNO DOMINI :~ 1800.

We usually get only the one line =
Henry Son of William & Mary Sensical ….Bapt…………..19th. Jan.

Then after the Rose Act 1813. ( Clarifying of Parish Registers )
We then get village of birth Plus Fathers Occupation.
It’s not till 1913 do we get Mothers Maiden Name.
But if we can find the Marriage of William to Mary then that would have her maiden name on it.

Re Death Certificate
Then this depends on the information of the informant
if they knew enough to state all names.
The registrar  could only state what is told them.

Mike- thank you again for your help. Sorry for the delay in replying to your post - life interupted my research! So inconvenient!!
I might send for his DC at some point. Meanwhile I shall leave Henry for the moment.
Signing off
Jen
