Is Jersey index in GRO?
« on: Sunday 26 December 04 14:55 GMT (UK) »
In freebmd, it seems you can't lookup anything from CI. Is there another index like freebmd for CI?

What kind of info do you get on a marriage certificate from the 1880s? Do you get at least the father's name of both spouse?

Thanks for the info.

17 pounds + the exchange rate fron CDN$ is a bit too expensive to get a birth certificate, if you don't know the exact date. Isn't there a cheaper way?

Don't abandon hope - there are a few of us in Jersey willing to do look-ups for others.

The good news is that if we find the right indexes we can then look at, and take notes from, the certificates without having to pay a penny.

The bad news is copies of certificates, at least from Jersey, now cost £20 - ouch!
