What's the British equivalent of our White Pages?
« on: Thursday 01 November 07 01:40 GMT (UK) »
Dear Rootschatters,

My Dad is in the need of a wee help with finding two certain sons of a longtime dear family friend whose telephone number seems not working at all at this time.

We would like to find the sons so we can enquire after their parent's well-being.

So, I am trying to figure what's the British equivalent of our White Pages so we can look up on them on the Internet. I know BT and other telephone companies but we are not sure....

Can one of you help us?? It would be very gratefully received.

Thanks,

Tees

The BT Residential Pages are at:
http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publisha.content/en/index.publisha

Hope this helps.
Tony
I am researching the following families:
Hurst / Payne - Leicestershire / Warwickshire / Worcestershire
Toon(e) - Leicestershire
Batchelor / Foster - Warwickshire / Northamptonshire
Hardy - Dorset

My web site has the family tree showing.  I am researching primarily the Payne, Hurst, Foster and Batchelor lines in the Midlands.

Thanks, Tony & Geniecolgan!

I think I managed to find one of two sons.

I know one works at the BBC Radio 4---shame, there is no direct number we could ring to ask for him. I left two E-mails on their website.

Found a positive identification on a son but one must have credits to look it up on 192.com!

You have my gratitude. We'll try two telephone numbers--one of them may be the one we are after!

Gratefully yours,

Tees

Hi, sorry I know this post is considered ancient by this time but I’ve been searching for my father for many, many years now, and happen to be 1 of 2 brothers, our father all of a sudden one day lost contact with us (we moved quite far away from him for reasons I won’t get it into until I’m sure it’s him) but I was curious if your father’s friend in question goes by Johnathan Griffiths? I don’t have much to go off other than his birthday, some photos and obviously his name. But anyway if it is, a reply to this post or an email or something would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
Welcome to Rootschat.

Rootschat rules state that personal details of living people may not be posted into the public domain.
Should people wish to talk about your father then you should use the PM (personal message) system.
You need to make at least one more post for PM to open up for you.[ just post an acknowledgement in this thread saying something like "OK" ]
Cheers and good luck searching for your father.

Okay gotcha, will remember that in future! Consider this my acknowledgment post so I may continue this in PM’s!
