my gggreat uncle Joshua Wharton 1800 has a will referring to him as a "gentleman " formerly from Quebec . i know his whole family were yeoman for generations before from Cumbria. Kirby Stephan ... england . we have since found a farm in ks. named Quebec but i have often wondered did he get his fortune in Quebec and return to england . i have never had any leads so maybe you could point me in the right direction . regards .

hi Janice , Would you believe i found that reference to Joshua Wharton yesterday . the one in Canadian dictionary. i was thrilled . we had a will that said he was formerly of Quebec but weren't sure if it was a farm Quebec in Kirby Stephan . thank you for those sites i will follow through . bye > Jan
