Donald Watson
« on: Tuesday 06 November 07 21:19 GMT (UK) »
My Greatgrandmother was Jean Watson. She was born 17th June 1859 in Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty. One of her sisters was Jane Watson, born 3rd Nov.1860. I know that Jean and Jane are interchangeable in Scotland. I have a copy of my Greatgrandmothers marriage certificate. On it she is called Jane. I know I have the correct certificate. Her father is named as Donald Watson. It doesn't state her mothers' name but she was called Jean Hogg. The problem is that There are two Donald Watsons married to Jean Hogg. The date of one marriage is 18th Oct. 1850, and the date of the other marriage is 1st Oct. 1852 The information came from Scotlands People.
How can I find out the correct Donald Watson?
Thaks in advance.
Betty

Hi Joe,

Although both Donald Watsons were fishermen, I do think you have the correct one because my Donald Watson lived in Shore Street, Cromarty.

Thanks for your help.
