Local knowledge of Pewsey
« on: Wednesday 07 November 07 12:21 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone recognize the name Woodbine Cottage in Pewsey? I have just made contact with my late Mother's cousin who is in her 80s.
Her Grandmother, Emma Ashton lived there as far as she can remember. The only two places I know that Emma lived was the first cottage at Raffin Lane (Swan Corner) and in Wilderness Row. Any help would be very much appreciated. I am sure Woodbine Cottage would not be pc today!

I only know Pewsey  vaguely, not well enough for any addresses.

Woodbine is the common name for honeysuckle, so Woodbine Cottage would be PC even today.

Thank you so much for the information Liz, I had no idea that woodbine was another name for honeysuckle. but neither did my husband, so I do not feel so bad!
