John and Rose (Rosamond) RODDA - 1871?

Hi - no sign of these two in 1871 census.....

Background is as follows:

1861 census shows them living in St Martins, Camborne Parish with children Arabella Mary (born Doddiscombsleigh, Devon) aged 8, Elizabeth aged 4 and John aged 2 - Rose is shown as born in Doddiscombsleigh also - John Snr was born in Crowan, Cornwall

1871 census shows Isabella (as she was also known) (and born in Chudleigh, Devon this time - it's close by..) as a lodger at White Lion (??) Barracks with John Wallser - she married this man in Oct 1871 but the census would have been taken in March.....(??)

I cannot see a death for Rose Rodda in FreeBMD and there are lots of John Roddas.......

Anyone suggest anything??

There is a marriage between John Rodda and Harriet Ward in 1861 - He is from Crowan although "a couple of years younger".......could be the same one

I cannot find any of the family in 1871 except Isabella. 

It would not be unusual for one of the children to have died but not all 3 (there was also a Sarah Jane aged 3 months in 1861).

Could the family have emigrated?

It DOES seem strange -- the only one I can find is that of Arabella and I cannot find her baptism anywhere.....

This is almost certainly incorrect - her baptism is THE big mystery so far) in my tree....!

Do you have the marriage for John and Rose? Was Arabella born before the marriage?

There is a marriage for a Rosamund Butt in 1854 on Free BMD but only 3 people shown on the page.  I suspect the missing one may be John Rodda but will check.

I have Isabella' (Arabella's) death cert which says she died on 2 Jan 1915 aged 58 - this would mean she was born around 1856ish meaning that when she married (7 Oct 1871) she would gave been 15!!!

First child was born 2 Feb 1872....

John Rodda married Rosamond Butt 25 Feb 1854.............
