Young men's hostel, Sydney House, Liverpool
« on: Friday 09 November 07 15:42 GMT (UK) »
About 1944/45 when my father left the Bluecoat School in Wavertree, Liverpool,  where he was a boarder, he had no home to go to, so lived at Sydney House, 76 Sheil Road, a hostel for young men.  Can anyone tell me more about this place, or where I could get some info.  I have tried googling etc.
Thanks Rosanna J ::)

This place was for young men not children in 1945, as far as I know. My father was 16, and was there till he was 20, when he married my mum.

Hi Rosanna J !

If he was under 18 .... he'd still be classed as a boy ! and then he was allowed to stay longer !!
