I am trying to find John McLean's wife. John was born in Ireland 1795 -a hand loom weaver, father to Elizabeth (1823), Henry (1827), Mary (1829) and John (1831). as per 1841.51.61 census. The children were born Carlisle, Cumberland. Also spelt McClean.  Any other information on John senior (where in Ireland) or where his wife came from.  Thanks J

For more information about the family in Ireland you would need to find church records, if they exist. To do so you need to know the family's religion and where they live, find the nearest churches and see if the records exist. For almost all research in Ireland you need to know the place of residence (townland or at least the parish not just the county).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
