Is there a list on here of useful sites like FreeBMD and IGI that are free to use, rather than pay-per-view, or subscription ?

It might be useful if not, and members could add to it ?

Thanks Bob ... I'm preparing a list of sites for an elderly friend who is getting hooked on her laptop and is about to connect to broadband ... and she's going to join this too !  She's been doing her FH for over 40 years ... the hard way !

I'm setting up a Google mail notebook thing ... which my friend and I both have access to, so I can add info to it for her, and vice versa ...

You will find that 99% of the links under the County Resources are also free and are a great resource of information.

She's pretty ancient to be starting on internetting, but hey !  She's game !  And keen !  And the FH she has done over the past 40+ years would put us all to shame ... neat files, letters, photocopies all in one lot of box files, cross referenced to albums full of neatly labelled photos ...  I'm well impressed !

She is never too old to be internetting - I am looking forward to picking up some of her tips ! I think she can give me some advice on getting organized for sure.
