MAJORs of Bosham
« on: Wednesday 24 March 04 20:34 GMT (UK) »
My GGG grandfather is Jeremiah Major B1825 from Bosham who married Mary Ann Mabey from Eling, Hants. His father was also Jeremiah and I think they were both mariners. Is anyone else out there in genealogy land researching same?

Hi Jason

Hi there fedelmar

Trawling through the very old messages, I came across your message of March 2004 that did not receive any replies.

I did notice since that date that you have posted some 16 odd messages, and without going back and reading them all - does this mean you are making headway with your research.

As the boards now have considearbly more members that when you posted that first message - would you like to re-submit any look up quieries, possibly updating them with new data..

Hi Chris

Thanks for the prod. I will be revisiting this line of my family soon and will probably repost then

BTW noticed you have done some work on Lewes parish records. I don't have any rellies from Lewes I know of but I am living there now. I've heard the place I'm staying on De Montfort Rd used to be the site of an old Napoleonic-era barracks - it is an old house (#20) and I wondered if it might have even been part of the barracks complex at one time. If you know anything I'd love to hear it!

Cheers
Jason
