baptism look up please - DREWE in BEDMINSTER

Dear Rootschatters

I wonder if there is anyone with access to the Bristol Diocese Baptismal Registers CD? 

I'd really like to know if a CLIFFORD DREWE was baptised in BEDMINSTER in about 1825-1835.  I'm not at all sure of the year as he is a sibling that I've only just discovered.

Are there any other DREWEs in Bedminster that I've missed?

Hi KN, sorry but I can`t find a baptism for Clifford Drewe anywhere in the Bristol area.  These are the only two Drew/Drewe baptisms I could find within the time frame you gave:-

Mary Ann Drew - 2nd October 1831 at Bedminster, St John
Parents - Thomas & Mary

Elizabeth Mary Drewe - 5th October 1827 at Bedminster, St John
Parents - Aurelius John & Elizabeth

I checked the 1841 census and found a Clifford Drew, aged 12, living in Chelwood, Somerset.  Is he the one?

Thank you for looking up my Drewe family.  It's still a thrill to get a response!

Of the two Drew(e)s that you found I think that the first can be discounted.  However the second is a sibling of Clifford.  The father, Aurelius, is a very interesting character.  Very entrepreneurial so there are references to him all over the place. 

I was unaware of Clifford until I found him in a small snippet from a book about Blundell's School via a search of Google Books.  Yes, I agree that the Clifford Drew that you have found in 1841 is the right one. Helpful that Clifford is an unusual name for the time.  I can't find Aurelius in the 1841 census.

I have found Clifford in the 1851 census when he is a solicitor's articled clerk in Cripplegate, London (born Bristol).

AMAZING!
I have spent hours (literally!) trying to find this family in 1841 and thought I had exhausted Ancestry's search facility.  I was beginning to think that they had either been missed out completely, there were pages missing or they were abroad. 
Aurelius Drewe was transcribed as Surchin Drew (!) and I was really expecting them to be in Berkshire, Wilts or Somerset somewhere near a canal.  Wasn't expecting them to be on the Isle of Wight!
