Where have they put Mottesbury Essex?

On the 1871 census I have a possible relative from
Mottesbury Essex
. Has anyone seen or heard of this place and where it is located? If it is a poor transcription is there a second best guess.
Happy New Year.

Hi Valentine,
I have looked at the Essex 1841, 1851 and 1861 regions of Essex and can find no reference to Mottesbury. Maybe it's a tiny village or parish, or it was the name of a house, or, as you suggested a mistranscription.
Good luck,
Geoff.

Sincethe place does not seem to exist, put up the name, age, piece and folio refs and we can have a look at the original.

Hi Valentine,
Although I was born and have always lived in Essex I have never heard of Mottesbury either. I have looked in an older book on Essex and the only place which would be a very long shot but starts with an 'M' and ends in 'bury' is Mashbury. Discribed as a little very lonely place with a small Norman church. It looks to be inear Chignall.
Good Luck, Frances

Many thanks to everyone for your hints and checks re. Mottesbury. I have no reference numbers but there was a
WILLIAM FARROW
on the 1871 census. He was listed as a Single Mariner lodging with the family LAYZELL of Kings Head, High Street, New Shoreham. If someone could kindly verify the birthplace I would be grateful. I am 'hoping' it is BUTTSBURY not MOTTESBURY as that would tie in with William's 1891 census birthplace of INGATESTONE. Have I got my geography correct guys? or am I trying to make things too neat.
The full name is William Richard TAYLOR FARROW.
Thanks and good luck.

Well I found the Image, and I think it should read Stokesbury (another Place I haven't heard of)
It certainly isn't a 'M' to start , neither is it a 'B'

Thought it might be Tollesbury (which is Essex, near Maldon). But then I saw image - so not so sure now.

Well, I'm an Essex boy and I reckon it is a badly spelled Tollesbury...which makes sense due to the badly spelled 'Brightlandsea' which should of course be Brightlingsea just along the water from Tollesbury.
