Campbell Ruthven & Lindsay
« on: Thursday 22 November 07 19:03 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find any info on Campbell Ruthven & Lindsay who I believe were merchants around 1800 in Greenock or possibly Glasgow. I have tried just about every listed archive only to be told I should be looking elsewhere. Most frustrating. Would someone have real and published data which may refer to CR&L. A Trade Journal or old newspaper perhaps. Plus if you find anything referring to Archibald Kerr a Joiner or Wright especially his death of 24th Feb 1808 that would get the special prize. Please I am redirected out and long for something positive.
Kerr, Cannon, Antrobus, Clark, McLean, McInroy, Jackson, McLeod.
All in the Greenock area from 1790 on.

Hello,

This link gives info on a court case concerning the company.  I typed in your header in to Google and up it came - covers a few pages.  The link is not to a book to be bought ,but to an article which can be read.  Regards,   Steve  :O)

Thank you so very very much Steve. I have spent months trying to find some info. Googled it each and every way I guess your skills in identifying the subject matter are way better than mine. Thanks again.
