Birth look up please for Nicholson

Please would some kind person see if they can find me a birth about 1799 for John Nicholson born Mitford..  Much Appreciated. Thank you. gladys1

There are 11 John Nicholson born in Northumberland according to the IGI but none in Mitford.

Whittenstall, Alnwick, Newburn and Long Benton.

Do you have any other clues

Sorry patrish i haven`t any ideas where else John could have been born as on the 1851 census he said Mitford unless he is still alive in 1861 census so i will put a request in for that.  Thanks ever so much for your help.   gladys

Familysearch has these:
John Nicholson birth - 21 Oct 1792 and his christening 23 Sept 1794, Morpeth. Parents Robert Nicholson and Mary.
Morpeth is the nearest place I could find to Mitford where there was a birth of a John N..

Ah he appears on the IGI now with the revised d.o.b 1792, quite a big difference from 1799.

I usually only search 2 years with common surnames, otherwise you get hundred's of them.

Thanks patrish, yes the two years either side of a birth is the usual way but you know how some people forgot their ages and they can be right out.  I am stuck now with John`s father Robert who married a Mary Kent in Morpeth on 20 Dec, 1789. Always brick walls.   Thanks a lot. gladys
