Burgess v Howe ring a bell ??
« on: Saturday 01 December 07 21:06 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I know this is a real long shot but worth a chance, I am researching my Burgess family tree, and have been struggling for some time to to link my Grt grandfather with his parents

I have started to make headway but am looking to try and verify if the information I have is correct.

I believe Alexander Chalmers Burgess is my Grt Grandfathers x2 brother, :-\

He was born in Scotland circa 1873, and married in 1900 Kent to a Alice Louisa Howe who lived in Chatham Kent, where they settled

If anyone knows either family I really would love to hear from you, any information would help me to move this dilemma forward.
Thanks in anticpation
Jayne :)

My problem is that Im possibly dealing with 2 names on the Burgess side, eg Burgess Watson, so Im trying to look for two surnames a nightmare

Thomas Burgess was a corn merchant in Rochester, Kent arriving in c 1835.  He retired in 1914 and died on 22 February 1940.  After his retirement he was a well known horticulturist.
