Hi, I am trying to trace without success Matthew Clarke born Offaly 1820 and wife Mary born
Westmeath 1821. Any ideas ?

You will need more than just the name of the county to find them in Ireland. Did they stay in Ireland? If not, where did they die? Married in Ireland? any other clues?

Hi.Thanks for your reply, The only other information I have is they were married in Ireland moved to Wigan later to Salford where they died possibly 1880's.

Do you know what religion they were? If married in Ireland... civil registration of Protestant marriages began 1845 but not until 1864 for Catholic ones.
